FUTURE TENSES

Future Simple (Futuro Semplice)

The future simple tense (il futuro semplice) in Italian is easy ... just follow these rules:

  • For ARE verbs ... take the vowel "a" and change it to "e"
    • Studiare → studiere
    • Then depending on which person is speaking, add the future tense endings
      • ò
      • ai
      • à
      • emo
      • ete
      • anno
  • For ERE and IRE verbs ... drop the last letter "e" and add the future tense endings
    • Leggere → legger (ò/ai/à/emo/ete/anno)
    • Partire → partir (ò/ai/à/emo/ete/anno)

 VERBI REGOLARI

"-are" verb (Studiare) "-ere" verb (Leggere) "-ire" verb (Partire)
io studierò io leggerò io partirò
tu studierai tu leggerai tu partirai
lui/lei studierà lui/lei leggerà lui/lei partirà
noi studieremo noi leggeremo noi partiremo
voi studierete voi leggerete voi partirete
loro studieranno loro leggeranno loro partiranno
